I have been trying for the last few days to get X working with my video
card. I had no trouble in RH 4.2, but now with RH 5.0, it doesn't seem to
want to work. I have a Trident 9680 video card. The Xconfigurator seems to
detect it as Trident 9660 video. I override using Xconfigurator --expert.
I have tried multiple different things such as differnet screen refresh
rates, etc. I have tried two different monitors "Generic Monitor", and
"Generic Multisync". I even did a custom monitor after looking in my
monitor manual. I have also tried using xf86config (which was what worked
in RH 4.2). I had a backup of my XF86Config file from the RH 4.2 install,
and now it won't work either.
Has anyone had this trouble with this type of video card? If so, did you
resolve it, and how?
