Hi Stephen,
You will need the SVGA server, If you run some kind of X configuration
program like XF86Setup or xf86config you are asked to specify your
videocard (and monitor) settings, (it is extremly important, that you
enter
the right information , else your monitor or card could take damage).
for your card there are two servers available ( XF86_SVGA and XF86_S3V)
the XF86_S3V didn't work well for me, but you could try it out (it's
faster)
Then you're also asked about the video modes and you can adjust the
default mode, etc. just try it out.
