I've used Mozilla 1.4 on Redhat 7.3 for while, and it's quite stable. I've had
very rare crashes, but I kinda abuse it sometime (being a web developer and
all) so I am not sure if that's mozilla to blame.

Just download the tar-gzipped, and run the installation script. You will have
to tell it where to install. You can have it put the installation in
/usr/local for example, and so you will still be able to have Mozilla 0.99
still in the system, just different location of binary.

It requires the newer JRE, read the release note in the Mozilla website. I
don't remember it needing new glibcc, but if you keep your machine updated
(with up2date), you should be fine.

As I said above, you can tell it where to put the installation. Please read
the release note from the Mozilla website.

I doubt it you will do that just by installing Mozilla if you not doing
something really weird.

Not sure bout that.
