Squirrelmail doesn't need rpm installation. You just put the files in a folder inside the webserver and that's all!!!! Why you will use RPM when you don't need it at all???? WHY??
I give you my advise about squirrelmail.. I have the software working very well on my server.. And the installation is easier than run an rpm.. I love rpm but sometimes you don't need it Go here and download a package to run squirrelmail: http://www.squirrelmail.org/download.php Than unpack the files into a dir inside you webserver If you want you can define an alias to access to your webmail in httpd.conf Alias /webmail "/var/www/webmail/" You will find a executable file in webmail/config/config.pl Run it and you will be able to config some issue as the home logo or some titles... new plugins too.. See the config.pl is very easy to use and don't need rpm installation. You must have http server with php plus imap server running well... if not; you need to come back in time Fryclau :) -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Rodolfo J. Again, I disagree. Unnecessary advice, and in my humble opinion downright wrong. If you have the knowledge to do a tarball install, and then later keep it updated and properly maintained, then of course that is a valid choice. But for someone who does not have that much knowledge, the RPM install involves almost no configuration and pretty transparent functionality. Besides, his only original question (IIRC) was which URL to use in his browser to access Squirrelmail. Why the heck would you have him _uninstall_ his software??? -- Rodolfo J.
