Coffee must not have kicked in when, on Thu, 3 Apr 2003, I wrote:

Of course, i386 and i686 binaries will run fine on a P4, though perhaps
marginally slower that if they were P4 optimized.  And the i386 and i686
code that gcc produces will run just fine on a P4 too, but I don't know if
2.95.x can optimize specifically for P4.  On the other hand, I don't know
that gcc 3.2's P4 optimization is all that special yet, either.  I've
heard it suggested that it has a way to go.

Don't know what I could have been thinking.
