I've got an internal IDE ZIP drive that has worked with kernels 2.0.31, 2.0.32, and
2.0.34.
It's given me some variation of the following "errors" everytime it boots... but they
don't
seem to impact performance.

> Jun 21 13:10:43 localhost kernel: Partition check:
> Jun 21 13:10:43 localhost kernel:  hda: hda1 hda2 < hda5 hda6 hda7 hda8 >
> Jun 21 13:10:43 localhost kernel: ide-floppy: hdc: I/O error, pc = 5a, key =  5, asc
>= 24, ascq =  0
> Jun 21 13:10:43 localhost kernel: ide-floppy: Can't get drive capabilities
> Jun 21 13:10:43 localhost kernel: hdc: 98304kB, 196608 blocks, 512 sector size
> Jun 21 13:10:43 localhost kernel: hdc: 98304kB, 32/64/96 CHS, 4096 kBps, 512 sector
>size, 2941 rpm
> Jun 21 13:10:43 localhost kernel:  hdc: hdc4

I've also gotten the "drive reports both blah sizes" error with no ill effects. As for
the BIOS being
able to detect it, on my system it DOES on a warm boot, but DOESN'T on a cold boot.

Oh, I did have a problem with it once when I forgot to include the IDE_FLOPPY (or
whatever it is) option
in the kernel config.
