Why not source? You could have a box in each store that nightly refreshes 
its source and builds everything in sight. If it builds properly, release 
it local store(s) for ugrade; if the build fails (and maybe if it 
succeeds) email head office.

The build can be triggered any number of ways, cron's maybe the simplest, 
but email or some other message triggering it has the advantage of doing 
it on demand.


In another context, I've seen mention of autorpm for automatically 
applying a pool of rpms.
