I seems the problem here was between the keyboard and the chair.
I had run the updates script and used the incorrect kernel version.
Then my cd-rw died, finally purchased another and the cd-rw will not
work with cdrecord
but the cd-r component does, so I live with that for now.

So, I finally got the updates boot script to work ( with the correct
kernel ) and it runs successfully.
I then ran the mkinitrd and mkboot script and that seems to go well.
Then I use mkisofs to create an image and burn.
The cd boots and and the initial screen loads with the boot.msg.
It then loads initrd.img
It then loads vmlinuz
Next it gives me a screen that says "Welcome to redhat"
(Why does this screen still exist when most all the text has been
changed to Canon)?
Next, by hitting the OK button it asks for Language -> Keyboard -> and
finally
install method.
On choosing Local CDROM it gives a screen askin to "Insert your Red Hat
CD"
(Why does this screen still exist when most all the text has been
changed to Canon)?
It then searches for the CD an gives an error saying
"That CD ROM device does not seem to contain a Red Hat CD ROM"

Obviously I am missing a gap in the setup process.
having changed the RedHat dir to Canon, What should the next step be?

Kind regards
Kevin
