Casserole Verde (Slow Cooker)

Makes 6 servings

1 pound ground beef
1 small onion, chopped
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
8-ounce can tomato sauce
1/3 cup chopped black olives
4-ounce can sliced mushrooms
8-ounce container sour cream
8 ounce container cottage cheese
4.25-ounce can chopped green chilies
12-ounce package tortilla chips
8 ounces Monterey Jack cheese, grated

Brown ground beef, onions, and garlic in skillet. Drain. Add tomato 
sauce, olives, and mushrooms. In a separate bowl, combine sour cream, 
cottage cheese, and green chilies. In slow cooker, layer a third of 
the chips, and half the ground beef mixture, half the sour cream 
mixture and half the shredded cheese. Repeat all layers, except 
reserve last third of chips to add just before serving. Cover. Cook on 
low 4 hours. Ten minutes before serving time, scatter reserved chips 
over top and continue cooking, uncovered.
