Friends:
Half wave loads would be those that pass through a single diode or a device acting like a diode. A resistive load like a heater would not be considered a half-wave load. AC-DC power supplies have diodes but if operating correctly will provide full wave rectification. Switching power supplies should also use the entire waveform although they can introduce noise onto the feeder. These power supplies are not typically large portions of a residential load. Please forgive me if I misunderstand the question, but basic electrical theory would confirm the above declaration. Toasters, toaster ovens, hair dryers, aquarium/terraium heaters etc. But I defer to others that know more. And I’m double checking to see if the information that I received is accurate. And of course assuming it is correct, is there anything to be done about it? That would help track down why some loads cause the over load error, etc. Thank you, Maverick Maverick Brown Off-Grid Solar Commander since 2006 Maverick Solar Enterprises, Inc. • Solar Commander Remote Power • SunFlow Systems Cathodic Protection maver...@mavericksolar.com 512-460-9825 On Dec 18, 2024, at 12:36 PM, Jay via RE-wrenches < re-wrenches@lists.re-wrenches.org> wrote: Hi all. I’ve recently been made aware that the fortress inverter isn’t too happy with 1/2 wave loads. I’m wondering if this is an issue with the AIO or solark?
