Most of our residential off-grid systems are designed around the peak load so a lot of the time there is extra capacity laying around. I assumed the fault logic was similar to what Jason is suggesting, 1 inverter faults and drops out then the remaining "higher level" inverters run and fault on AC overload if the situation requires it. Guess I thought wrong.
