Calc loads and see if you can replace the main with a 175A breaker if it exists, or even 150A. This main breaker downsizing has been a go-to exercise for us for existing meter-mains. It's frustrating being limited to 40A on the load side. That doesn't even get to 10kWdc with Enphase IQ7+, which is becoming a pretty small system these days around here. I tell every home builder I see to avoid meter-main combos but they keep putting them in.
Sadly our utility accepts NONE of the "solar ready" panels on the market. That's another snag we run into.
