I and clients are told this all over, not just Florida. It is pretty
typical of building department and utilities. They just recite the
standard line. I have even been told that you can build the offgrid home,
you just can't live in it. I think I am well past 150 offgrid homes, and
counting. The dumbing down effect is alive!

It is a different thing to take a grid tie house offgrid. I always advise
against it for many reasons!
