If you want to utilize a mate at the equipment and one 300' away why not just have a mate in both locations and always keep the remote one plugged in, unless you are in front of the equipment, then just plug that one in. When you turn off the lights to leave just make sure you plug the remote mate back in. It would require some interface and maybe a instruction label or two, but is doable, no? Or would it not work because of memory, settings or other limiting factors? benn DayStar Renewable Energy Inc. www.daystarsolar.ca 780-906-7807 Construction Electrician Solar PV Systems Certified Certificate # 0007S HAVE A SUNNY DAY From: frenergy <[mailto:frene...@psln.com] frene...@psln.com> Reply-To: RE-wrenches <[mailto:re-wrenches@lists.re-wrenches.org] re-wrenches@lists.re-wrenches.org> Date: Sunday, April 7, 2013 10:10 PM To: RE-wrenches <[mailto:re-wrenches@lists.re-wrenches.org] re-wrenches@lists.re-wrenches.org> Subject: [RE-wrenches] Two Mates Bob-O, et al. Thanks for the help...I guess I always thoughts 2 Mates were do-able, now I see it's even labeled on the second port of a hub "2nd Mate". But alas, from your feed back, I'll not be utilizing another Mate in this (or any) system. Dang. Yes, there are two spaces for Mates on a Hub 10, but according to one of the techies I spoke to, it was a good idea that never happened. I can't find anything definitive in the Mate3 OM discussing how many Mates can be connected to a Radian. I have a backhoe showing up Monday AM. I am running power and cat5 for a Mate3 from a Radian to a location 300' away. Two things: This is the max recommended for the hub-to-a-mate distance so I'm planning on pulling it in its own conduit, separate from the power (do other tricks come to mind to insure the signal makes it?), and Can I connect this Mate3 and keep the one at the Radian online? Has anybody actually done this?
