Drake, I was concerned about the outback reliability with AGS but have concluded that if there actually were software issues or something else, the problem has not reappeared for me in since the early days of Outback.. I had one specific system that had some of the first FX inverters and that may have been the problem. Ran through 200 gallons of propane and fried the batteries. We have installed dozens of systems with the MATE and AGS since then and all the problems we see are Generator related and not the Outback equipment. The comment from Randy about the DC Genset setting and the run time limit was interesting to me as I generally ignore the DC genset setting and never check to see if they are still at default or longer run time. I have had issues from customers saying they can never equalize from the generator. Maybe that is the issue.

It appears that if the system is 48 volts, it is necessary to center tap the battery bank for a 24 volt feed to the GSCM. This I don't want to do. Is it still agreed that the FX inverters are not reliable for starting and stopping generators? Has anyone used a GSCM on a 48 volt system without problems?
