I just finished the commissioning of a new 103 kW rack mounted grid-tie
system for a University located in Virginia when we were informed the school
had applied for Federal funding for this project after the initial project
design and specifications were completed 3 years ago and at the time this
was not a requirement. Needless to say, the installation contractor was
just advised the inverter was not made in USA as required by the Federal
funding program and would have to be replaced. This inverter worked
perfectly during our commissioning and only has 2 weeks of total operating
time. Although this unit was not made in USA, the company does have a US
factory and I assume they will assemble the replacement unit there.
However, they will not allow any exchange or credit on the unit installed, I
assume they are claiming they never represented the unit as 100% made in
USA. I must say this unit looks to me like it was well designed, the
internal wiring and boards look the same as all other inverters I have used,
and all of the large internal components were made by nationally recognized
manufacturers.

The contractor is willing to take a big cut if he can find another buyer.
It's a 100 kW model PVS-100, 480 VAC, 3ph, Satcom with six(6) string input,
in an outdoor rated enclosure, inverter mountied AC and DC main
dis-connects, and pre-wired for Mod-Buss data communication.

Call or email me off list for contractor contact if you want to make them an
offer -
