Transfer delay of 30 is too long with sensitive electronics. This means that when the AC input drops to 110VAC the inverter waits 30 cycles before we disconnect from the genset.
If the Ac transfer control is set to Grid instead of GEN then you would have to program these settings into the ADV/FX/GRID set points. When I visit sites I will usually program both GEN and GRID equal. Steve Higgins. Sr Application Engineering Mgr Sub-Saharan Africa Business Dev Mgr. This made no difference. I did not confirm SETUP/FX/INPUT ...ac transfer control set to GEN. Make sure that you have adjusted the transfer delay cycles in the right screen... ADV/FX/GEN under Transfer delay cycles... I would set this to 0. As Mick said.. Check the Lower limit on the AC Voltage... ADV/FX/GEN... AC2 Gen Lower Limit I would adjust this up to 110-112? What does he have the cool down timer set to? I would suggest 5-10 minutes Look under... ADV/MATE/AGS/SETUP... I would set this to at least 5-10 minutes just to let the genset cool off before shutting off. Steve Higgins. He has two VFX3648 inverters in Outback stacking. He acquired a new generator, a Kohler 12RES, a reputable make and model. Below is a description of the problem: The 12RES seems to be operating OK except for one problem. At the end of a charging cycle, when the gen automatically shuts down and load goes back to the inverters, all lights, TVs, etc., flash, one TV shuts off, and a GFI trips. This has happened every time. It did not happen with the 15RES or the smaller back-up gen (which was disconnected manually). With the 15RES the same GFI would occasionally trip while the unit was charging and handling house load, but never at the auto shutdown point. I replaced the GFI, but it still trips. There are three GFIs in the house, but only one--always the same--trips. I suggested he adjust the AC2/Gen transfer delay to a lower number. He reduced it to minimum and this did not resolve the problem. I also had him verify that the AC source is selected as generator, which it is. Do you have any suggestions?
