I've seen Tarm Boilers set up to thermosyphon to 30-40 feet of fin tube in the event of a power outage. there's a normally open zone valve (caleffi makes a wide variety of actuators for their zone valves, including 3 way zone valves, but no DC actuators) that will allow thermosyphoning when the power goes out. important with a super pricey wood gasification boiler in the country.
I'd probably do something like that with my woodstove loop. hoping to do that with my stove here someday.
