Thanks everyone for the kind words. This really has been fun. The racks and fenders setup has really got me excited. Local (SF) retailer BoxDog Bikes has a 20% discount on all fenders through February, in part because we've had no rain. I bought some smooth 700x50 Berthoud Stainless Steel jobbies from them. The front and rear racks are the Velo Orange Constructeur models. The rear attaches at the dropout and then twice to the fender and that's all! Super clean look. Since these steel fenders feel totally bomber I expect it'll be plenty solid. It will be my first time to do an install like this, but it will be so old school and cool. The front attaches at the dropout, once to the fender, and once through the fork crown daruma. So, on a bike that has zero rack braze-ons, and no canti posts, I'll have front and rear racks with zero P-clamps. I think that's so hot. Anyway, stay tuned.
