The Bleriot hoods are 1.5cm closer than the Giant bike but I don't think that is the issue since my back also hurt when they were further out last fall and spring. The bar widths of both bikes are the same on ramps and hoods (I never go into drops/hooks). Because of the geometries of the two bikes being different, the measurement from saddle nose to stem bolt is .5 cm further out on the Bleriot than the Giant. But SN to bar tops reach is same, as I mentioned. This is a real puzzler. Been going on since last fall. The new Sam was kind to my back when I did have the drops on it. The Giant Bike has never hurt me.
