I never used friction shifting before, but I am getting used to it now after a month of riding my new Sam. Not many auto shifts anymore. I used the friction mode on the Bleriot a lot because of auto shifts. I guess the 10 speed is difficult to dial in. The Raleigh has a 7 speed cassette, so I guess it doesn't get much easier than that for fric shifting these days. I don't think there are any indexable bar ends for 7 speed. I could look around. I have had the bike to the shop for a tune up and still having trouble with it.
