For a rim, I would suggest considering Velocity's A23 rim:
http://www.velocityusa.com/default.asp?contentID=746

(I have them in 650b, and really like them, built my first wheelset on
those rims.)

Jim Thill, Rich Lesnik, Anthony at Longleaf, Peter White... all would build
you a good wheel set.. not, a GREAT wheel set. I have two wheelsets that
Rich built me before I started building my own, his are perfect; Peter has
a stellar reputation; Anthony is who I got my 650b A23 rims from; and Jim
is just an all-round great fella, can-do whatever it is you need..

But you work at a shop now, right? Just thinkin'.... Build your own
wheelset? I queued up numerous videos on youtube, read Jobst Brandt's
book, used my HoH wheels as a guide, and had at it... they're functioning
very well for me. I picked the hubs I wanted, picked the rims, picked the
spokes, and did it myself... learned a lot, and can now tune up my
family's wheels as needed now....
