That is an unusual place to find one of those stems! Looks good!

I second the appeal to Riv to remake those stems, but with a much longer
quill. I do think that, if you are going to raise a bar high above the
steerer, the extension ought to have a positive angle, and the Ritchey
splits the difference between a "7" and an upjutter. And, the Ritchey is
simply a nice looking stem.

In fact, if anyone has something like that in a 9 cm, I 'd be interested ...

I have one of those XT rds on the Fargo and yes, they are nice. But, odd:
when I switched from the 9 sp LX because it was reverse pull, I found that
the XT was much less precise and had to re-learn my shifting technique. Too
bad Shimano can't make this old 8 sp XT rd with the same travel precision
that the newer LX has. Since I've learned to modify my shifting, the XT is
excellent, but that LX was something else altogether.

Tape: it doesn't look as good, but let me again plug the Lizard Skin DSP
line. I use the 2.5 mm on my Rivs and the 3.2 mm on the Midge on the Fargo.
For comfort, the best tape I've used.
