Steve: That's the fallback option... The first choice would be for Amtrak to get their sh** together and allow roll-on/roll-off for bikes (but I won't hold my breath) Second choice would be to get a shuttle service to transport people and bikes between the finish and the start (which I'm working on) Third choice might be for people to use multiple vehicles to shuttle themselves (if the first 2 options don't materialize) And then there's another variation of the "last" choice: do it a day early. In other words, get a hotel for Thursday night in Cumberland, do the car-shuttle-train thing Friday morning, then spend the entire day (Friday) taking your time, riding the climb at a leisurely pace, spend the night in Frostburg and meet up with everyone Sat morning. That might be a nice warmup ride.
I have also checked into bus service between Connellsville and Cumberland, but I haven't found anything yet. That would be ideal, especially if the bus operator would allow bikes unboxed in the cargo area; you could drop your car in C'ville and shuttle down to C'land. Boy, so many options...
