Rather than stir up an argument here- and since this thread began with recommended reading- I would just like to recommend a couple of books that would answer your question, and perhaps add some perspective to the whole idea of mounting a camera on the dashboard of an _automobile_ to illustrate the 'pinch' that pedestrians are feeling from bicycles.
