Hi Tony and William -

To each his own. If this ride had not been supported - I would likely
have been happy with my load.

But I was plenty warm in shorts and a thin t-shirt at Island (at 7am).
It was all I could do to get myself to drink between rest stops.

And you have every right to be proud of finishing 109 miles Tony. That
was a punishing ride.

Curiously, while riding to BART, I noticed that even though I could
not handle steep hills, I could push a moderate gear - about 75 or 80
inches - up a reasonable incline for a prolonged distance. I only had
a problem with the steep hills.

Grizzly Peak Cyclists do seem to be a friendly bunch. I am considering
trying some of their rides during the year, and reacquainting myself
with some of the hills we sampled Sunday.
