I rode the Grizzly Peak Century as well, but not on any Riv bike. It
was a steel Land Shark though (it was blue and painted with California
poppies and birds, in case any here saw me), so that counts for
something, right? :)

I saw the purple Custom (who could have missed that?), and a pair of
his-n-hers Romulus (Romuli?). There was also a free-pedaling mountain
biker guy that I had a quick chat with while suffering on "mama
bear". But mostly, it was a skinny-tired carbon-fest. Regardless,
most were pretty cool and I had a good time chatting with folks whose
names I've ashamedly forgotten.

The Grizzly Peak Century was a nicer ride than the Napa Century I did
last year, but the 13% climbs were fairly brutal for sparsely trained
legs-n-lungs. I think I should be more prepared next year if I want
to enjoy the beautiful scenery more. As it happened, it was pretty
much survival after the three bears for me.
