I did the Grizzly Peak Century today on the Hilsen. We enjoyed perfect conditions. No wind, warm and sunny, nearly hot on climbs, but not quite. Just a great day out on the bike. Including the ride to the start and from the finish, I logged ~115 miles. The Hilsen was spectacular again, on my fifth century-plus for 2011.
I saw a total of 4 Rivs in the huge field of participants, including me and my buddy Doug on Hilsens, one Rambouillet (do the hip kids call that a "boo-yay" or a "bwee-lay"?), and the spectacular bright purple metallic custom that Grant posted a flyer for on the Riv site recently. The owner of that Purple Stunner and Doug were the only two folks I saw pedalling free with tennies, although I did see one lady rocking the Adidas Sambas with toe clips.
