Attention Riv Rally East Riders: The Wellsboro PA weather forecast for the coming weekend (as of Monday evening) indicates a 30% chance of rain. According to my math, that translates to a 70% chance of NO RAIN... So as of this moment Riv Rally East is ON!!!!
Please confirm if you will be joining us; otherwise please don't forget to cancel your reservation. The schedule: I will arrive Friday evening (exact time TBD; aiming for around dinner time). I am staying at the Sherwood Motel. My cell is (908) 303-6887 SAT AM - Assemble at Wellsboro Village Green at 8 AM. We will depart shortly thereafter. Our Saturday route will feature the 44 mile Wellsboro Route, which takes us down through the Pine Creek Gorge. Sunday - Riders' choice: There are several great rides in the area (see web site - http://pinecreekbikerides.com), I thought we'd allow group consensus to determine the route; otherwise I might recommend one of the Colton Point loops (since these provide options for those who need to leave earlier on Sunday to travel home). Personally I plan to depart for home in the early afternoon, so I hope to get in a 4-5 hour ride in the morning. I plan to bring light rain gear, but rain or shine, I am REALLY looking forward to this weekend; I hope you are too. I am trying to contact local rider Bill Yacovissi, who hopefully can give us an idea of the dirt road conditions. For those planning to arrive on Friday, if you would like to meet on Friday evening, give a call or send a text once you arrive... I will try to stick to my self-imposed curfew of 11 PM.
