Rally Update for Wednesday:

I contacted Wellsboro PA local Bill Yacovissi, (who as you know
created the PineCreekBikeRides web site), asking him for an update on
the dirt road conditions, and to assess the Stony Fork stream
crossing, which is featured on the Wellsboro Loop (Saturday's ride).
He indicated the roads are in good shape (not muddy), but maybe a few
rough spots in places. The stream crossing at Stony Fork Rd is not
so deep as it is wide (and cold), according to Bill. In fact, he
suggested we consider an alternate variation of this route (he and I
are discussing options). This may potentially extend the length of
Saturday's ride, but we will first poll the group to make sure ALL are
comfortable with the route that we select.

Bill would also like to join us on Saturday's ride, but said he's
concerned he may feel out of place; first of all, not riding a Riv,
and then something about his age, being 64 years old... I assured him
he needn't be the slightest bit concerned; first, given that he rides
these roads (some with 1000 foot climbs) on a Trek 700 at age 64, I
assured him he'd have zero problem keeping up, and that he would be
MOST WELCOME among this group... Besides, I'm guessing Bill won't be
the eldest amongst this group, correct?

I'm grateful to have Bill joining us for Saturday's ride, and I'm sure
with his guidance we'll find a nice route to compensate for the Stony
Fork detour.

Peace,
BB
