Erik, Thanks, i think this explains why my suntour xc der is a little loud at various points in the gear range, at least now i know!
I also wanted to say that i have a set of deore thumb shifters, which are great. and a set of suntour xc pro levers, the levers i would put up against any modern machined lever, they are really nice.
