If it is the same hub (and even that is conjecture), I have a tough
time seeing how an on/off switch down there can deal with bad
weather.  Snow, ice, and slush pile up on my current hubs.  Can see it
shorting out a switch in fairly short order.
BTW, my Schmidt hub is probably out of the ordinary, but can really
notice it on my Sam Hillborne.  Seems to have extra drag and a
noticable vibration at certain speeds.
