Rob, Stuart, Earl, thanks for the feedback about the fenders. I did think about bending the front fender, but hesitated. Earl's comment gives me both a rationale and an idea about where's the best place to bend.
Stuart, Your orange Ram looks great. I got connected to Rivendell just as they were moving from orange to blue and could have bought one of the closeouts at a discount, $900 if I remember correctly! But I hesitated. I had never seen a Rivendell bike in person, until I was out in Victoria vacationing with my son. We were on a ferry to one of the islands in the Puguet Sound and there was a guy on an orange Ram with HB & saddle bags, headed home for the weekend. I knew then I wanted one, but by the time I got home & checked the website again, they were gone. michael On Sep 9, 10:13 am, Earl Grey <earlg...@gmail.com> wrote: > A front fender that is pushed up squarely against the fork crown is > going to drag first on the front, since the fork offset effectively > moves the wheel forward, misaligning it with the fender.
