I just got back from a (for me) brisk ride, out and back along the RG bosque
bike path, 21.5 miles rt; nice ride despite a wind that kept shifting around
to my face. Or so it seemed. I've finally got the saddle dialed in, and now
the only fit issue is the reach to the bar which is, to hooks and hoods,
just a wee bit too much. I hope soon to swap out the Noodles for a shorter
and shallower which I hope will put the hoods and hooks just where they
ought to be. (Sorry, the Noodle has been claimed.)

The bike rides nicely enough, tho' I was surprised at the jarring over
pavement heaves even with the 33.33 JB Greens down to 40/50 per my Zefal
gauge (me, 170); this with just one empty Ortlieb -- my other Rivs with
22-23 mm, 26" tires at 90/100 are no more jarring. Anyway, racing the rain
back home, I averaged 16.7, which is not bad for that bike and the single,
67" gear I used the whole way.

But I still noticed that awkward front end; not horrible, mind you, but
rather slow to carve turns (tho' steady once you initiate the turn/lean) and
feeling somewhat light and wandering on the straights -- and I ride mostly
in the hooks, what with the bars slightly higher than saddle; sitting
upright on the bar flats, it is even more noticeable.

I wonder if wider tires will help. Aren't there some BQ-supplied tires that
are light, supple, fast and wider than 33 mm? Might those help the wandering
feel?
