Old school safety razors: I am old enough to have started shaving with these (Gillette brand! -- Our brand new, at the time, Grt Bks college, Thomas Aquinas college, began life on the campus that started as the Gillette mansion and grounds -- the mansion had an Adams family basement organ that vented into the living room) and, believe me, as with modern clinchers, forgings and frame alloys, the old days have nothing on the new; even cheap double blade disposables are far, far better. The 2-sideds were probably better than cutthroats, but prolly not by much. As a lad, I had a bad complexion, and ... you get the idea: many mornings stumbling into 830 am Euclid or whatzizname's conic sections with bits of toilet paper stuck to my face.
