Hi, Rene -- I have never ridden a Bombadill, much less own one. I do own a
size 61 Atlantis that I have toured fully loaded with panniers. The longest
tour was 2500 miles last summer on the ACA Western Express/Trans-Am
(Partially). I noticed no flex or weakness whatsoever with the Atlantis. It
is very stout. for comparison, my PBH is 87.5. I weigh 175 lbs. I carried as
much as 45-50 pounds of gear/food/water last summer, plus weight of Nitto front
and rear racks. Owning the Atlantis is why I am not particularly interested in
a Bomb or even a Hunq. I'm not skilled enough riding off-road to get the most
out of those two models, and neither can top the Atlantis for the sort of paved
road riding I do. I own four Rivendells. The Atlantis will be the last of the
brand that I part with.

Ray

Subject: [RBW] Atlantis - Bombadil comparison

Could anyone who has/had both compare them? Are they significantly different in
terms of riding quality or feel? Is the Atlantis significantly flexier when
loaded vs the Bombadil with the 2 top tubes? Do they differ in their handling?

Thank you for the feedback!

René
