Hi y'all--Kirk sent an update about the PariMoto to the 650b list last week and
I asked him about how he envisioned this tire being used. Based on his
response, I'm more excited than ever about these tires! Well, here's my
question and his answer:

I asked:

There's some discussion/speculation about the intent of this tire on the RBW
googlelist. Can you weigh in briefly on the appropriateness of this new
tire for, say mixed surface riding, multiday supported or unsupported
touring and so on? I personally am planning to do some touring (supported
or credit card) on my Saluki in a few weeks and I'd be interested in whether
your new tire would be a good choice for a ride that will include
packed dirt railtrails and pavement of various quality, or if I should stick
with the Trimlines for the time being. If you wish to offer some thought in
the thread on that list but don't care to subscribe, post a response here
and I'd be happy to summarize there if you like.

Kirk replied:

The tire will be appropriate for all the riding you have described.
The tires were intended to strike the balance between a Trimline and a race
tire. It's not going to have the same puncture resistance as a heavier
tire, but should not be an issue for your needs.

I see now that the word "event" is causing some confusion. The tire is going
to be a great "all-rounder" and will not be useful just on sunny days or
competition.

Best regards,
