I did a bit of googling and came across a thread on the Serotta list that might 
offer some insight on the PariMoto.  Excerpt:

...the Pair-Motto will have a nice file tread, will be lighter than the Col DO 
or Orson, but should be just as durable as a similar treaded 700c version which 
millions of people ride everyday and think nothing of it...
The Pair-Motto would make a much better event tire than the Col DO or Orson, 
but it was intended to be used as a great all around road tire.

It sounds like a tire I would use on dirt roads/railtrails and pavement of 
variable quality.  Maybe not on trails but I have committed trail bikes with 
knobbies for that.
