Good to know. I've ridden bikes with "tourist" bars -- Raleigh Sports, road bikes converted to sweep-back bars, rod braked roadsters, very briefly, an omafiets -- that were short enough forward of the bottom bracket (taking top tube and available hand positions on the bar) to make standing awkward; you felt as though you were going to fall over the bar; though slack seat tube angles did allow you to get a sufficient torso to hip angle for mashing.
I guess -- correct me if I'm wrong? -- that these Riv models are designed for this precisely by having long top tubes? "Paean" and such: Decades of vast and undisciplined reading.
