I'm still perplexed by waterford. When the AHH was new, and being built exclusively by Waterford, I tried to order one with canti studs and a crown braze-on to screw a metal fender into, and the quote for that was also $500. That's how I ended up with the Ebisu All Purpose. Anyway, I'm sure these are great brakes. I have the neos on the Ebisu and love them and am about to take possession of a Bilenky tandem with posted racers. I look forward to adding these to my Rambouillet. As for 33.3 and fenders; I don't think the fender width or brake is the limiting factor on that frame; it's the fork blade length not leaving enough height for fenders and the 33.
I think in the last decade there has been a real surge in really good American made components and I'm glad to support that. These brakes are expensive but I expect them to out live me.
