I have also been very impressed with the ride quality of Bruce Gordon Rock and Roads. They have a pretty aggressive tread, but roll decent on pavement with just a faint hum and seem to be almost as supple as the Compass regular casings. I do have them set up tubeless and am running a low 30psi. They did measure larger than the advertised 43 width according to my calipers. IIRC, they measured close to 45mm when first installed and have likely grown a little. They JUST FIT with just enough clearance on my Sam with Paul Racer sidepulls. No room for fenders and I wouldn’t want to go any larger. I would like to try them on my Toyo-built 650B AHH but it seems to have a bit less clearance than the Sam. They also make them in 700X43C. I have heard that the Schwalbe G-Ones ride nice and roll fast, but their bead was so tight I couldn’t get them installed and was fortunately able to return them. It is my understanding that the G-Ones “Tubeless Easy” sidewalls are easily cut by the sharp gravel that he have here in the Flint Hills of Kansas. The very popular Dirty Kanza 200 gravel race has become a test bed for many tire manufactures and it’s hard to find a good balance between ride quality, rolling resistance, weight, and puncture protection. I have heard and read good things about the Maxxis Rambler and the new line of Vittoria Terreno tires. I kind of geek out when it comes to tires. I do like the trend towards tan colored sidewalls. They look good on just about any bike, but specially on Rivs.
