Compass makes a 42. Compass tires are a bit wider than they are tall. Other
tire makers apparently make relatively taller tires. Bottom line is you can
only go by the number so far. Somewhere Jan Heine describes how to measure. A
quick google searc didn’t find it bit I know it’s out there. Obviously fenders
make a difference.

I have Compass Barlow Pass (used to mistakenly call them Barlow Flats but that
seems like a bad name for a bike tire) 38x700 on my Salsa Cassaroll low trail
conversion. I run them around 50 psi. I have compass 48x650b extralights on my
Bombadil. I run em 28 psi front and 32 psi rear.

They both roll really nice but I really like the volume, low pressure and
suppleness of the 48c a lot.

So if you can fit a 42c it do it I’d say. According to compass they have 22%
more air volume than 38c. So that should mean 20% less pressure to achieve the
same loft or around 40 psi.

I have run Schwalbe in the past. Marathon supreme and Marathon Plus. I run
Gravel Kings 38 on my commuter. Like Gravel Kings but while Schwalbe are
durable do not prefer them.

I got some Panaracer Pacenti Quasi Moto 27.5 x2 for gravel riding later this
summer. Anyone know these tires?
