Rando and committed tourers will spend $300.00 for a crank. TA does a tidy business in the market. Whether people will pay a premium for a Sugino when there are cheaper models available is another question. I do not think Riv has much risk, however. It appears Sugino makes the cranks already. Riv is just making them available in the U.S. Just a matter of buying a small quantity first to test the market than get more later if demand is there.
