I also wonder whether it wouldn't be a better decision for Riv to provide the frame specials at a real (20%?) discount, since cash-flow issues seem to be Rivendell's biggest operational problem year in year out. I don't think a 20% would erode the brand's value, and would probably clear out some of that inventory that's slowing down product development.
