The perception of brilliance will depend a lot on the price. Some
people will think that the refurbished frameset has to be less than
half the price of original retail to be worth it. Those people, I
guarantee you will be disappointed and will gripe that the refurbs are
overpriced. Some others will take Grant's 'better than new' teaser at
face value and will be happy to pay nearly retail and be happy with
the value. I applaud the recycling aspect. I give a standing O for
the upcycling aspect. I also love the idea of buying a one of a kind
thing. Knowing what little I do about Riv's operating costs, I am
expecting the refurbs to be really close to full retail value and full
retail price. For exactly the same reasons that the 'frame specials'
page is full of frames at full price.
