Never tried power grips but I’m using HoldFast with spiked VP pedals and I find they work very well for my needs with fixed gear riding and easy enough to pull my foot out when necessary. Through two winters of moderate use they are frayed and showing signs of wear from occasionally dragging in between mounts and dismounts but still holding up well. I also love how they are easily readjusted for thicker shoes with just the upper Velcro strap (I initially installed with thicker shoes so the strap just gets tightened more with my thinner soles.
