I agree that 650B makes a great deal of sense with smaller frames. I have been thinking of a bike for that (talked about *ad nauseam*) AM hub, and dithering whether I want 26" wheels or 700C wheels. Perhaps it would be an opportunity to try 650B for the first time.
Oh no! I've just made the decision more complicated! Seriously: 650B is on the table. I'll bet that, if it is built, it will be the first 650B AM hubbed bike in the history of the cosmos.
