Neil, I took Riv's advice from a Blug post a couple of years ago and bought 700x45 Smart Sams for my 56 orange canti-Sam. They've been wonderful, bouncy fun on trails. Two things that surprised me: they are much more supple than I expected and much quieter on the roads (only some expected buzz when leaning into a turn). They have delivered Schwalbe durability (no flats in 2 years). I've been using them on my heavier duty wheelset which are 36h A719s on Phil hubs. Pretty heavy wheelset but on trails I almost don't feel like I'm underbiking. Here's a photo: https://www.flickr.com/photos/129545862@N03/19238298132/in/dateposted-public/

I'm not manly enough to go 1x, but a hi-lo double might be sweet. > > The alternative is a new bike (disk brakes, 650B with room for fatties), > which I really shouldn't do. > > Let me know what you have done to off-road your Sam! > -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group.
