Giro ski helmet is the best for winter commuting. It looks cool, is comfortable, and is a lot better than trying to wear a beanie or some sort of hat underneath a regular vented bicycle helmet designed to cool your head.
The newer Giro helmets have easy opening vents. I typically ride for 10 mins with them closed, warm up, then open them up.
