I would bet he is talking about chainstay length, or possibly it's relationship to overall wheelbase along with front center. Chainstay length is nearly as controversial with some people as trail. Me, I think a good bike is a good bike. Some have more or less of one parameter or another, but there a lot of different ways to cook the same dish.
